Todd Adams

Todd Adams is a seasoned medical professional and leader.  Todd has 30+ years of leadership experience, going back to his days as an Infantry officer in the Army.  He has 12+ years of experience in the medical field, starting as a Nurse’s Aide, and working his way up through EMT-Basic, Paramedic, Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), Jessamine County Special Operations Team Medic, Registered Nurse, Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN), AHA Instructor, and currently working as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).

Along the way, he has earned the following degrees or certifications:

Ph.D. in Nursing at The University of Arizona – IN PROGRESS

Todd’s research topic is hospital readmission rates for persons with behavioral health problems.  According to the AHRQ 2016 report, people with mental health problems are three times more likely to be readmitted (24% vs. 8%) and 5% of people are responsible for 50% of the readmissions. This is a $16 Billion problem.

MSN in Nursing from Vanderbilt University

Todd graduated Summa Cum Laude (GPA 3.96) from the #1 Psych NP program in the US. He has the distinction of being the only student to ever be told during simulations that the actors wanted to come to see him for real therapy. (as reported to him by senior faculty).

Addiction Medicine Training at Hazelden Betty Ford in Rancho Mirage, CA.

Todd received training in addiction medicine from the world-famous ‘Betty Ford’ clinic – now Hazelden Betty Ford.  He is the only Nurse Practitioner to participate in this physician-only program.

Associate degree in Nursing from Morehead State University

Todd graduated Cum Laude, was on the Deans council, and was personally mentored by the Dean of the School of Nursing.

Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary

Todd graduated Magna Cum Laude (3.82 GPA) from this Wesleyan/Methodist school.  He was inducted into multiple honor societies including Eta Beta Rho and was the founding member of the Mars Hill Society – a philosophical and religious debate club.

Bachelor of Arts in Economics/Business from Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL. 

Todd went to college on an ROTC scholarship and met his wife Elizabeth there.

Elizabeth Adams

Elizabeth is the business manager and the main reason Anthem Psychiatry is flourishing.  She has 27 years of experience as a public-school music teacher. She has taught elementary school, middle school band and choir, and high school band and choir in Illinois, Kentucky, and Arizona.

Elizabeth was the 2019 teacher of the year at her school. She was on the KY State Board of Education Committee for Higher Education Credentialing.  She has served as a choral clinician, and cooperating teacher supervising student music teachers. She has a Bachelor of Music Education from Wheaton College and a Master of Music from Northern Illinois University (GPA 4.0).

Elizabeth’s greatest strength is her incredible ability to connect with people from every walk of life.  She is truly a loving, kind, dedicated person with a soft touch. Twenty-seven years of teaching has created a steely-eyed wonder woman.

Anastasia Adams

Anastasia is our newest medical professional.  She handles scheduling and front office administration.  Anastasia is a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – graduating at the top of her nurses’ aide class.  She is in nursing school at Glendale Community College.

Anastasia has two years of business experience, as a sales associate at the GAP stores and as a server at Olive Garden.  She was named employee of the month three times at the GAP.  She is a musician, played flute in the high school marching band for 5 years, and loves her dogs Charlie and Daisy.
